Dan Lamb's press conference Aug 28, 2012 at Confluence Park, Binghamton, NY
Tom Wilber, author of a major book on the swirl around High Volume Hydraulic Fracturing into the Marcellus Shale, was there, talking to Sue Rapp, coordinator of Vestal Residents for Safe Energy. Lots of anti-fracking signs. It looks as if all local media were there. Mayor Matt Ryan of Binghamton, site of a one year moratorium, playing a supportive role to Dan Lamb. Binghamton's moratorium on fracking has been challenged in a lawsuit the results of which we're still awaiting or maybe it flew past me. Media out in force. This position by Dan Lamb to make the fracking discussion a major feature of his campaign is a BFD, as VP Biden would say. Prof. Bob Howarth of Cornell spoke eloquently on behalf of Dan Lamb. Bob should run for office. But I'm sure that's more difficult and much more insane than being a named Professor of Ecology and Environmental Biology at an Ivy.
Dan spoke with great energy and verve, in contrast to the last time I saw him, at the first house party in his campaign.
The photos don't do justice to his high energy. But it seemed a bit forced to me. You had to have been there or have a good video.
